Hopefully you already have a Plan A in place! What to do to get where you want to go.
- That could mean you know how many people you need to speak to for your business success.
- That could mean you know how many days you need to visit your gym to hit the health goal you have in place
- That could mean you know how many pages you need to read to finish the books you have stacked on your nightstand right now.
What happens when Plan A falls apart. And believe me, it will fall apart!
Over the past few months if you had travel plans that included Delta or Southwest you found yourself looking for Plan B, Plan C and maybe even Plan D as both of these large airlines had major computer issues grounding thousands of flights and leaving people stranded for days.
Did you have a plan for your health and your body fought back with a sprain or just a flu from the new exercise?
Did you have a plan for your new eating strategy and then ended up at an event with only fried food and sweets. Note: This sounds like a great event to be stuck at!
Did you have a plan for making calls to your potential and past clients while at the office and people kept knocking on your door to ask questions.
Our plans are only as good as our back-up plans.
Next time you build Plan A, take a moment and look at all of the obstacles that could get in your way. Some of them might be so extreme you don’t really need a plan for them and some of them might be so common you already included the contingency in Plan A. There will be many things that will come to mind while you wear your black hat and review your original Plan A.
Don’t take days to build the back up plans, just put together a Plan B, Plan C and even a Plan D if needed and because you have them, you won’t need them!
Some tell us that we should have a Plan A and stick to it no matter what. While we want you to be committed to your plan of attack and not fall back to a Plan B or Plan C, remember what Mike Tyson said…”everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth”
Be ready for your success with whichever plan you follow!
